The ProMedica Cancer Institute (PCI), led by Wayne State professor Manuel Valdivieso, will host a Fall Symposium on Oct. 9 in Perrysburg, Ohio. “There are 12 million cancer survivors in the nation,” Valdivieso said. “This is compared with 3 million survivors in 1971. We understand cancer better now, but the worry is what we are going to do with survivors.”
