Science center named for Hope graduate

A. Paul Schaap, who taught chemistry at Wayne State for 30 years before retiring to run his Southfield-based company, Lumigen, will be honored by Hope College , which is naming its new science center for him. A 1967 Hope graduate, he donated $7 million toward the building. Schaap has endowed a chemistry chair and established a graduate fellowship at Wayne State .
