February 5, 2013Grosse Pointe Farms businessman to join Wayne State Board of Governors
Gov. Rick Snyder has appointed businessman David Nicholson to the Wayne State University Board of Governors. Snyder appointed the Grosse Pointe Farms executive to the Detroit school's eight-member board Monday. Nicholson is a senior executive at PVS Chemicals Inc. and a board member of local groups including the Detroit Historical Society. Nicholson is replacing Danialle Karmanos who stepped down at the end of last month. The 39-year-old Republican said that she wants to dedicate more time to her family. Board members are generally elected, but the governor fills vacancies when members leave during their eight-year terms.
