Jocelyn Benson, associate professor of law at Wayne State University, wrote an op-ed about corporate campaign financing. Benson wrote: “States seeking to fight the corrupting influence of money in politics should be able to restrict corporate spending on campaign ads.” Benson urged Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette to join his colleagues in 22 other states in asking the U.S. Supreme Court to preserve states' ability to restrict corporate political spending.
