WSU welcomes Aramark as new campus dining partner
Tim Michael, Wayne State University’s associate vice president for business and auxiliary operations, recently announced that Aramark Higher Education has been selected as the new vendor for the university’s cafeterias, dining halls and restaurants.
"I'm pleased to announce that WSU has signed a letter of intent with Aramark Higher Education to be our new campus dining partner. The transition between our current vendor, AVI Fresh, and Aramark will occur this week, and Aramark will begin serving our campus on July 1, 2013.
I thank AVI Fresh for 12 years of serving the retail, residential dining and catering needs of the university, especially in the residence halls, where AVI Fresh has been the first and only dining provider in Yousif B. Ghafari Hall [now home to Gold 'n' Greens] and at the Towers Cafe since their openings in 2002 and 2005, respectively.
I look forward to working with Matt Wilton, our new dining director, as we implement a new vision for campus dining over the next two years. More information will be announced later this summer about new meal plans, dining concepts and more, all tailored to our campus community."
Aramark Higher Education provides dining and facility services to more than 500 colleges and universities in the United States, including Central Michigan University, Saginaw Valley State University, and Grand Valley State University in Michigan.
