WSU’s “twirl girl” among Lions’ Thanksgiving halftime show performers
Wayne State University will be well represented during the Lions’ 73rd Thanksgiving Day Classic on Thursday, Nov. 22.
In addition to Lions running back and former Warrior Joique Bell, spectators will see WSU’s “twirl girl” Alexandra Ridley perform during the halftime show, headlined by singer and songwriter Kid Rock.
Ridley, who over the summer was featured in WSYou for winning the World Twirling Association’s 2012 Miss College Majorette title, is excited about the opportunity to showcase her baton twirling skills.
Her dance team, from Janet’s School of Dance in Taylor, was invited to participate in the nationally televised event.
“This will be the largest crowd I’ve ever performed for,” said the Warriors Marching Band featured majorette. “We have a Wayne State alumnus on the team now. That makes it even more awesome.”
Cheer on Bell and Ridley starting at 12:30 p.m. when the Lions take on the Houston Texans.
