Last year, the Student Veterans Organization (SVO) collected more than three truckloads of donated cold weather clothing for Detroit’s homeless veterans. And they plan to do it again — with your help.

 

The SVO is collecting winter clothing to distribute to homeless veterans on Thanksgiving Day at the Michigan Veterans Foundation in Detroit. 

 

They are also collecting new or gently used purses for partner Handbags of Hope. The organization will fill the purses with 10 necessities, such as lip balm and tissues, and deliver them to housing for victims of domestic abuse throughout Michigan.

 

To donate, bring warm clothing and handbags to the Student Veterans Organization on the sixth floor of the Student Center. You can also schedule a pick-up for Nov. 16 by calling 313-577-4762 or emailing studentvetsorg@wayne.edu.
