Wayne State University experts available to comment about recent mass violence

Wayne State University experts are available to comment about the recent deadly shootings in Oregon and Connecticut. Today’s violence at a Connecticut  elementary school is the latest mass violent incident this year.

Eric Lambert, chair of the Department of Criminal Justice, can talk about the motives of spree killers and mass murderers, and tactics law enforcement employ for profiling or preventing these killings.

Matthew W. Seeger, crisis and emergency risk communication expert, who has written extensively on school shootings, can discuss the handling of the crises and the long-term impact.

Gerald A. Shiener, M.D., assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences in the School of Medicine, can address the various psychological issues surrounding these tragic events.
